VILA was founded nearly two decades ago to fulfill one essential mission – to provide private, independent, dignified, honorable, and affordable homes and a continuum of care for America’s veterans.

Based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, VILA is a non-profit 501(c)(3) run exclusively on the generosity of unsolicited private donations. VILA’s independent model of support is unrivaled – as are the services and help given to each resident.

At its core, VILA provides a range of safe, customized homes for our veterans to heal, connect, and replenish their spirits.

SERVICES

VILA is first and foremost a residential resource, advocacy organization, and home for veterans – including fully-furnished stand-alone condominiums, group homes, and assisted living facilities. Our team of dedicated and caring professionals provide meals, medical-related transportation, housekeeping, internet, special events, and other veteran-focused services.

VILA also works in close partnership with doctors and medical professionals across New Mexico – with an emphasis on residents with established Veterans Health Administration teams. Examples include:

• Home-based primary care
• Psychiatric primary care
• Mental health intensive case management

No other New Mexico-based organization dedicated to veterans does as much – especially without government underwriting, grants, or professional fundraising campaigns.

VILA’s properties across the greater Albuquerque metro area are settings designed to meet the veterans increasing levels of support. This flexibility allows our non-profit to maximize its funds and give residents a range of customized and comfortable living options. It also allows us to serve as long-term support for our residents – ensuring that they are provided for, regardless of evolving circumstances. These include:
